8 Plus Rating: An Upcoming Movie Hostiles (2017)

Hostiles is a western-themed US film written and directed by Scott Cooper based on an original story by Donald E. Stewart, Oscar-winning screenwriter of 1982's Missing. Among them are Christian Bale, Rosamund Pike, Wes Studi, Adam Beach, Ben Foster, Jesse Plemons, Rory Cochrane and Q'orianka Kilcher. The film, set in 1892, follows an army captain in charge of escorting a dying Cheyenne Warchief and his family back to their tribal lands.

The world premiere of Hostiles took place on September 2, 2017 in Telluride. It is expected to be released by Entertainment Studios on December 22, 2017.

Production & Release
The project was announced in February 2016 with Scott Cooper as director and Christian Bale as lead actor. In March, Rosamund Pike was poured and announced a production start in July.In April, Jesse Plemons was added to the project as a member of the unit and his role was to escort the war home.

Wes Studi and Adam Beach were signed in June. Studi played the dying war chief. In mid-July Timothée Chalamet entered the film as Private Philippe DeJardin. Shooting began in late July in Santa Fe. Ben Foster was added, among other things, at the beginning of the filming. Ryan Bingham, who also plays in the film, writes original songs for the film.

The film premiered on September 2, 2017 at the Telluride Film Festival.It was also shown at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2017. Shortly thereafter Entertainment Studios acquired the US distribution rights for the film.The release is scheduled for December 22, 2017.
