Thor: Ragnarok delivered the expected number one at the local box office on the second weekend, boosting the nation's total number of films before the first and second Thor films after just ten days in the release.

But just as a story are the strong openings for a number of newcomers, both wide and and limited, like Paramounts Daddy's Home 2 and Fox Murder on the Orient Express both ahead of expectations and Fox Searchlight's three billboards averaging $ 80,000 per theater over its limited arc.

In the meantime, the A24 Lady Bird has cracked the top ten of the weekend, even though she only played in 37 cinemas. With an estimated $ 56.6 million this weekend, Thor Ragnarok dropped only 54% on the second weekend, bringing the film's gross domestic product to over $ 211 million after ten days in the release.

That's enough to get the full gross profit for both the first Thor movie ($ 181 million) and Thor: The Dark World ($ 206.3 million). In fact, Ragnarok is now.

Ragnarok is an American superhero movie based on the Marvel Comics character Thor, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to the Thor of 2011 and the 2013 Thor: The Dark World and is the seventeenth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The film is directed by Taika Waititi based on a script by Eric Pearson and the writing team of Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost and Chris Hemsworth as Thor alongside Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban. Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins. In Thor: Ragnarok, Thor has to escape the alien planet Sakaar in time to save Asgard from Hela and the upcoming Ragnarok.
