Another Spider-Man Spin-Off Centering Around The Villain Morbius, The living Vampire.

The project is currently being written by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, whose earlier films include "Power Rangers," "Gods of Egypt," "Dracula: Untold," and "The Last Witch Hunter," claims The Hollywood Reporter.

Created by Marvel Comics artist Gil Kane and written by Roy Thomas, Morbius first appeared on the pages of "The Amazing Spider-Man" Issue 101.

After his debut, Morbius appeared regularly throughout the Marvel Comics world and even became the hero of his own series and other titles.

Also known as Dr. Michael Morbius, the character is a biochemist trying to heal himself from a rare blood disease with vampire bats and electroshock therapy.

His experiments, however, have tragic consequences as he becomes infested with classic vampire traits including fangs, the ability to fly, and a thirst for blood to take to survive.

At the time of reporting, no casting or publication date has been announced.

This is not Sony Pictures' first "spider-man" spin-off - who owns the rights to the characters in the "Spider-Man" universe - with Tom Hardy in the title role in 'Venom'. 'Movie.

The official Twitter account for the new movie, starring Hardy alongside Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate, and Reid Scott, has recently confirmed that the production runs on a post photo showing the cameras.

'Venom' is the first time that an enemy of Spidey gets his own stand-alone movie, but the character appeared in Sam Raimi's 'Spider-Man 3', with the character played by Topher Grace.

Sony and Marvel Studios signed an agreement in February 2015 to introduce Spider-Man - a character in which Sony acquired the rights - into the MCU. Tom Holland has taken the role and appears as Spidey in a cameo feature in 'Captain America: Civil War.
